JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the daily operating, maintaining and cleaning equipment and tools as well as supervising, monitoring and scheduling of all efforts related to supply and sanitation efforts on the property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.
• Actively supports the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.
• Assists in the supervision of all line production staff ensuring compliance with Company specs and standards.
• Responsible for preparing, seasoning, finishing, and garnishing all food in kitchen preparation in accordance with established recipes.
• Portions and prepares food items such as soups, sauces, entrée items and vegetables in accordance with orders and plating instructions, avoids waste in preparation.
• Performs as a team member with Cooks, Dishwashers, Supervisors, Chefs, Servers, Utilities, and pertinent Company Associates in producing a smoothly and efficiently run operation on a scheduled shift.
• Follows all recipes and control procedures.
• Assists in all areas of food production as needed as well as planning menus.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary area at all times in full accordance with State Health Regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises line cooks on a daily basis.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED and two to four years’ experience as a cook’s apprentice in a large, full service hotel or restaurant required.
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures required.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition subtraction and multiplication tables.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
