JELD-WEN is currently seeking a General Production Associate to join our growing team.
General Production Associate GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION: Under direct supervision, this Entry Level position(s) perform repetitive production support operations using hand tools, associated machinery, and equipment to assist in the manufacturing and of JELD-WEN products including Door Skins, and all other JELD-WEN related building products.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: General Production Support personnel assist in every facet of the operation, as directed by management, to achieve the goals and objectives of JELD-WEN products as written above and are involved in every phase of production from beginning to end; They gather the necessary materials, use the appropriate hand tools, and operate applicable machinery and equipment in the various plant while assisting in the achievement of production goals, quotas, and objectives.
Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operating machinery and affixing parts and support mechanisms to the product; trimming operations; painting both rough and finished products; wrap, box, stack, and package machined products, label and tally them accordingly to match appropriate paperwork; make necessary repairs to the product and load them where applicable.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to appropriate plant personnel including, direct supervisor, or inspection or quality control personnel; Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations per plant policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative, but not all inclusive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is routinely required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee will move stock, materials, and unfinished and finished product in and near their work areas.
This requires the ability to raise hand above shoulder, stand for extended periods and solo-lift to 50 lbs.
intermittently and up to 25 lbs.
repetitively as a two-person team.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and machines, vibrations, and loud noises.
KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ESSENTIAL SKILLS: High School Diploma or GED preferred; The ability to read a tape measure accurately; The ability to multiply, divide, add and subtract; Previous production support experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not mandatory; Must be able to be trained on basic processes and equipment and serve as a hands-on resource in Production Support.
SCHEDULES Typical schedules are fulltime and are either 8hr.
or 12hr.
rotating shifts with a minimum of 80 regularly scheduled hours + overtime over a bi-weekly pay-cycle.
We also offer a shift premium when working the second and third shifts.
