JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Nail Technician performs professional nail, hand, and foot treatments.
They must possess a thorough knowledge of the nails, including a basic knowledge of hand and foot massage techniques and a neat application of polish.
They must possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills and be willing to train in our spa’s specific nail service offerings.
They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide beauty solutions to meet the needs of our guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Providing high-quality manicures and pedicures, which includes removing old nail polish from fingernails and toenails, cleaning nails, shaping the ends of nails, pushing back cuticles, and applying new polish based on clients’ preferences.
• Applying artificial nails.
• Recommending various nail designs and nail art to clients.
• Evaluating the condition of clients’ nails and advising them on proper nail care and suitable nail care treatments.
• Ensuring that nail and massage supplies are adequately stocked.
• Providing quality hand and foot massages.
• Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
• Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED or higher required.
Strong customer service background.
Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge.
They must hold and maintain a current New York State License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear.
The associate is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
The associate is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb, or balance, and stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds, must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and must infrequently lift and/or move up to one hundred pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
