Position Title: Dietary Aide
Supervisor’s Title: Dietary Supervisor/Cook
*General Statement of Responsibilities:*
The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting the Cook with preparatory cooking; preparing the dining room for meals, setting-up trays and all facets of clean up after meals.
*Qualifications: *Appropriate serving practices in dining room, cleaning & sanitation, sanitary good handling practices, operation of kitchen equipment, effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, ability to work with elderly & disabled persons, must be able to read, speak English, and follow written instructions.
*Major Job Duties:*
1.
Assist the cook with preparation of the meals.
2.
Prepare dining room and set-up trays for meals
3.
Serve food at meal time in the dining room and to residents in their rooms.
4.
Respond to residents’ requests at meal time, and serve as requested.
5.
Bus and clean tables in the dining room and collect trays and dishes after completion of meal service.
6.
Wash pots, pans, utensils, dishes etc.
after meals.
7.
Assist in other general clean-up and sanitation tasks in the kitchen.
8.
Empty trash and clean trash cans.
9.
Sweep and mop dining room and kitchen floor.
10.
Assist in the stocking shelves and organizing kitchen.
11.
Set-up resident’s snack trays and deliver to resident units.
12.
Perform in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
13.
Perform other duties assigned by the Cook or Dietary Supervisory to ensure the effective daily operation of the kitchen and meal service.
*Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities In: *General knowledge of food preparation and appropriate dining service techniques, ability to read and follow directions in English; ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors; ability to work with residents; ability to present neat, clean appearance at work.
*Physical Requirements:* Requires constant standing and walking; frequent turning, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, and lifting of up to approx.
50lbs.
; and ability to operate kitchen equipment; ability to use arms and handful in such functions as chopping, slicing, peeling.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.
