Position Title: Housekeeper
Supervisor’s Title: Environmental Services Supervisor
*General Statement of Responsibilities:* The housekeeper is responsible for the cleaning and appearance of resident’s rooms, therapy rooms, offices, etc.
in the nursing home facility.
*Qualifications:* High School Education.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
*Major Job Duties:*
1.
Clean resident’s rooms as assigned to include: dusting & furniture polishing, cleaning & sanitizing bathrooms, sweeping and vacuuming carpet/floor, windexing mirrors, general straightening and organizing, changing linens and making beds, and emptying trash.
2.
Straighten, pick-up, and organize all common areas, therapy rooms etc.
3.
Straighten, pick-up and clean offices as assigned.
4.
Remove, clean, curtains and drapes and re-hang as assigned.
5.
Assist in cleaning windows throughout the facility as assigned.
6.
Complete any report or log as requested.
7.
Attend related in-service trainings and staff meetings as requested.
8.
Immediately report equipment malfunctions, injuries, and accidents to supervisor.
9.
Use effective universal precautions in work and sanitation practices as required.
10.
When resident is transferred or discharged from facility, perform clean procedures to assure room is prepared for new occupancy.
11.
Perform cleaning and sanitizing procedures in accordance to infection control policies and procedures.
12.
Perform other job tasks such as assisting with residents as assigned and requested.
*Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities In: *General cleaning practices, ability to consistently do physical work.
*Physical Requirements: *Must be able to stand walk independently; must be able to move/lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to see and read/follow written & verbal instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain assigned areas, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
- Perform a variety of cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing
- Change bed linens and replenish amenities in guest rooms
- Stock and maintain housekeeping carts with supplies and equipment
- Respond to guest requests and ensure their satisfaction with the cleanliness of their accommodations
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel
- Adhere to housekeeping standards and procedures to ensure consistent quality service
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and cleaning products is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication skills to interact with guests and colleagues in a professional manner
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including bending, lifting, and standing for long periods of time
